| Welcome to my New Look Website |
|---|
Its time again to give my website a major overhaul. I have been busy working on other websites and my site has been neglected while I have moved to a new platform. I have gone a bit simpler this time with my design. And I am now just concentrating on content from my Scuba Diving and Web Development. I am currently re-organising and reviewing all my diving pictures and presenting them in new Flash picture galleries. This is work in progress at present.

| The Grey Nurse Shark |
|---|
I support the conservation and protection of the Grey Nurse Shark found on the East Coast of Australia. During the early 1960's and through to the late 1970's they were hunted relentlessly through ignorance. The mentality was that we must rid ourselves of this ocean menance that is threatening our beaches. It wasn't until Scuba Divers alerted the government to the fact the Grey Nurse Shark is completly harmless and in 1984 the Grey Nurse Shark became protected as an Endangered species. In 2002 the NSW Fisheries introduced the Draft Recovery Plan which gave the Grey Nurse Shark some protection at key shark aggregation points. See Endangered species - grey nurse shark at the Department of Primary Industries website.
One of key agregation sites is at Magic Point Maroubra other sites include Fishrock Cave, Forster and Seal Rocks where I love to go diving. See my animations including Grey Nurse throughout the website also see the picture gallery here.
Sharks over the years have copped a lot of bad press especially with films like Jaws whiched terrified the audience and made people scared to go swimming in the ocean. There are over 300 shark species and there are only several that are any real threat to us. I actually like to see sharks when I go diving and have even come across a great white once. I was diving with friends at North Solitary Islands when the shark swam past and turned and checked us out and swam off. The Grey Nurse suffered early on through peoples shark fears and now protected is hopefully making a come back. Once plentiful around Sydney now just half a dozen that appear at Magic Point from time to time.

What a week! First we had miserable bully Lisa and shouty creep Marcus going at it hammer and tongs in a battle to control the house. This overbearing pair of 80's throwbacks need to cool it. Then we had Angel's 'hunger strike'. Listen darling I don't know what you think you are doing, but you are setting a bad example to young girls watching the show. |

Interview with Ian Collins on The Late Show flash music player http://www3.talksport.net Nikki gave an excellent and entertaining interview about celebrity life after Big Brother and about her book. The interview began with a discussion about Big Brother, with Ian saying that Nikki was in the show when it was at its peak. She explained why she had applied for the show and also described her appearance on Blind Date in which she got to pick her date who turned out not to be to Nikki's liking, although she had a good holiday in Portugal out of it! |
